Preliminary index of business investment to decline in the fourth quarter

According to data from the National Statistics Office on Friday, index investments in a revised business on a seasonal basis by 5.6 during the last quarter compared to a quarter of the previous year.


Business investment fell by 1.7 billion pounds to record 28.7 billion pounds. Total manufacturing investment fell by 2.4 on a quarterly basis to record 3.5 billion pounds. Non-manufacturing investment fell by 6% to up to 25.2 billion pounds.

Compared to the fourth quarter of 2010, business investment fell by 2% or the equivalent of 0.6 billion pounds.
